Iranian epic to compete in Armenian festival

Daryoush Nassiri’s 'Rostam and Esfandiar’s War' is slated to participate in the 15th HIGH FEST International Performing Arts Festival in Armenia.

Also written and acted by Daryoush Nasiri, ‘Rostam and Esfandiar’s War’ will take part at the main section of the 15th edition of the festival on October 6, 2017.

The epic is based on a tragic story in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh (The Book of Kings) telling the story of a battle between Esfandiar and Rostam, two legendary Iranian heroes.

The monodrama will be performed on stage through the usage of Iranian performing styles of (narrative and Ta'zieh (traditional Iranian passion play)).

A large number of performance groups from Brazil, Argentina, Russia, Finland, Germany, Austria, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia and Iran will take part in the artistic event.

The 15th edition of High Fest International Performing Arts Festival will be held from October 1 to 8, 2017, in the Armenian capital city of Yerevan.
